Greenwich New Short Breaks Offer

The Short Breaks team are excited to confirm our brand new Short Breaks offer from 1st April 2021. As well as some returning organisations, we also have three new programmes available to a range of ages and support needs for our children and young people in Greenwich.

Attached below is the new Short Breaks Guide which has information on the 8 organisations who will be delivering Short Breaks from April 2021 until March 2023. Here you can find a page dedicated to each of our providers, as well as general guidance on the Short Breaks process.

The Short Breaks Team will also be holding virtual question and answer sessions with our providers across four days at the beginning of March. This gives parents/carers the opportunity to speak to the organisations, find out what their offer is and ask any questions they may have about the programmes. See attached below for the Zoom Q&A schedule, which has the individual dates, times and zoom weblinks for the providers. To join a session, click on the Zoom link provided and put in the Meeting ID and the password. The host will then let you into the session. Each Q&A will be approximately 30 minutes in length, and if you would like to submit any questions in advance, please do send them over to us.

Finally, attached below is an updated preference form for your Short Breaks preferences from the 1st April to the 31st August. If you can please outline your preferences for your child for term-time sessions (weekends and after school from April - July) and for school holidays (including Easter, May half-term and the summer) and send the completed form to Short-Breaks-Referrals@royalgreenwich.gov.uk. Regarding COVID-19, our hope is that all programmes are going to be running by April, and providers have put COVID-secure measures in place to protect service users, staff and families. We will continue to update families if this changes following any government guidance.

If you have any questions about particular programmes or organisations, you can contact them directly using the information provided in the guide, or alternatively join the Q&A sessions taking place next week to put forward your queries. If you have questions about Short Breaks in general, or if you need help completing the preference form, please get in touch with the Short Breaks team. All information about the new offer will also be put onto the Local Offer in the next few days.

Greenwich Short Breaks would like to extend their thanks to all of the parents, carers, children and young people who were part of putting together the updated offer, and we hope that families will continue to benefit from the activities and services that are available through the Short Breaks programme.
